Arisce Wanzer a transgender fashion model has become a cover girl. Not for some edgy hip clothing brand, but for Spiegels one of the country’s oldest established mainstream catalogs that has been in the mail order business for over 100 years. This is no mean achievement for Wanzer who is one of the rising stars featured in the Oxygen series “Strut,” which profiles transgender models working with Slay management.
The news is perfect timing coming as it does in Trans Awareness Month, and as one of Spiegels classic catalogs from the 1950’s below shows, it’s a giant step forward and shows how they are still so relevant in today’s society and marketplace. We take our hats off to them.
