Devoted to Dries

Finally the long-awaited trailer  has arrived of a new documentary on Dries Van Noten who queerguru has always maintained is the most-underrated fashion designer of his generation. The openly-gay Van Noten from Antwerp allowed German filmmaker Reiner Holzemer  to accompany him in his creative process, and his home life, for an entire year. It documents the precise steps that Van Noten takes to conceive of four collections from the very start until they are launched in Paris Fashion Week

It includes footage from Van Noten’s breathtaking, Ophelia-inspired spring/summer 2015 show, when, instead of a completing a final march down the runway, the models languorously lay down on the green, mossy catwalk.

The movie has its World Premiere in Copenhagen’s CPH Doc Fest in March 2017, and then fingers crossed, it hopefully will come to a Film Festival near you.  Watch this space for details.   Meanwhile making an appearance in this trailer is one of Van Noten’s most devoted fans the fabulous Iris Apfel, and endorsements don’t get that much better than that.
