Posted on Categories queerguru.tvLabels , , , ,

Once in a blue moon when we are ploughing through our usual packed schedule of movies to review, we come across a wee gem that hails an extraordinary new talent that gets us more than a little excited. Discovering that this particular new find wrote, directed and starred in his first feature, but who is barely out of college, makes it all even more remarkable.  Prom King, 2010 is already being hailed as one of the best new LGBT movies of 2017, and queerguru talked to its creator being hailed as the new wunderkind : Christopher Schaap.  He is an old-fashion romantic in a young soul.

The interview via Facetime was filmed and edited by Roger Walker-Dack for “queerguru reports” for PTV’s Channel 99.

queerguru reviews Lone Scherfig’s new movie THEIR FINEST a rather charming romantic comedy set in London in Blitz in the 1940’s is essentially a tale of an accidental feminist who single-handedly saved the British film industry and boosted the flagging morale of the war-torn country’s population.

queerguru also caught up with Lone Scherfig to talk about the movie during Miami Film Festival in February : apologies for the poor sound as the interview was held in very packed and noisy room at The Standard.

Bobbi Jo Hart talks about Rebels on Pointe with queerguru

Posted on Categories queerguru.tvLabels , , , , , ,

Bobbi Jo Hart is the director of the new movie Rebels on Pointe which is the first documentary that has gone behind the scenes of the world-famous all-male (and all-gay) ballet company Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo. It’s a wonderful heartwarming tale of how this Company has not just survived for over 40 years doing their delightful parodies of romantic and classical ballets that have not just won them fans all over the world, but how they have become one of the oldest (and happiest) LGBT organizations.

On the eve of the movie’s East Coast Premiere at Miami’s OUTshine Festival Bobbi sat down with Roger Walker-Dack for queerguru reports on PTV’s Channel 99 to talk about what making this film meant to her.   The interview at the Albion Hotel, Miami Beach was filmed by Douglas C. Lance of www.fotonoggin.com
