For his English language feature debut, the Argentian-Chilean filmmaker Sebastián Lelio (The Fantastic Woman) has directed Disobedience which he adapted with Rebecca Lenkiewicz from the book by Naomi Alderman. Its a tale of a woman who returns to the English tight-knit Jewish Community that shunned her decades earlier for an attraction to a childhood friend who is now married to the Rabbi. Once back. their passions reignite as they explore the boundaries of faith and sexuality in this tale of forbidden love.
This highly anticipated movie from Bleecker Street stars Rachel Weisz and Rachel Adams whose performances show this incredible chemistry that practically sizzles on the screen, along with Alessandro Nivola as the Rabbi.
