Fifth Time lucky for Annette Bening?

ann

She’s won 2 Golden Globe Awards plus a SAG Best Actress Award and a BAFTA, but despite being nominated 4 times for an Academy Award, an Oscar has proved elusive for the exceptional talented actress Annette Bening. However, now there is a buzz that her latest performance in 20th Century Women that will premiere as the centerpiece gala at next weeks New York Film Festival is so good that it may make it 5th time lucky for Ms Bening.

The movie is a comedy that centers on a single mother who tries to teach her teenage son about love and freedom, along with two other women, and is set in Santa Barbara in the summer of 1979. Written and directed by Mike Mills (Beginners), it also stars Greta Gerwig, Elle Fanning, Billy Crudup and newcomer Lucas Jade Zumann.

We will have to wait until December to see it in movie theaters, but just judging from this first trailer she may finally get an Oscar to sit on her mantlepiece next to the one her husband Warren Beatty won back in 1982.
