Writer/director Jon Garcia has just completed the final part of The Falls trilogy which traces a couple of young gay Mormons missionaries as they come to terms with their sexuality within the confines of their faith. Coming out as gay can be tough enough for many people, but attempting to do that as an active member of the Church of Latter Day Saints is nigh on impossible.

Things however are changing and in The Falls Grace of Covenant,  RJ and Chris are determined to resolve the issues that have kept them apart to see if they could ever live happily ever after together from now on.

On the eve of the release of The Falls Covenant of Grace, Garcia talks to queerguru aka Roger Walker-Dack about this highly successful LGBT trilogy evolved and why he thought it time to give some closure to these young men’s struggle    The interview is filmed via FaceTime for P.T.V.

queerguru’s hat is off to Chris Salgardo President of Kiehls Since 1851, as not only did he pull off another spectacular and highly successful LifeRide fundraising event for amFAR, but we soon discovered when he and his fellow riders rolled into Provincetown this morning, that everybody involved was having such a blast as well.

Salgardo was accompanied by some of his celebrity buddies on this 11 day trip, but as we interviewed them all for P.T.V, it was very clear that he hardly had to twist their arms to go biking with him.

We’ll have our full report on the fun time they (and we) had, and exactly how much money and awareness that they made, and about their support for the AIDS Support Group of Cape Cod, as soon as our editor has spun their magic with all the footage we shot. Meanwhile as a teaser trailer here is our interview with one of LifeRide’s regular riders Ben Cohen the ex England Rugby Player, now an activist and Founder of The Ben Cohen Stand Up Foundation (that combats bullying) ….. and a Throughly Nice Chap too.

Filmed for P.T.V. by Judy Rolfe

Dean is very intrigued as Alex was the biggest love of his life, and even though he has moved on, he just cannot help but think how his life may have turned out if he had stayed.  He just has to find out.

The Lure of Provincetown : a new Exhibit

Posted on Categories queerguru.tvLabels , , , , ,

South Florida has always been a home from home for many LGBT residents of Provincetown who like to swap the sometimes brutal winters for the sunshine state. Now The Stonewall National Museum & Archives in Wilton Manors has a new exhibition called The Lure of Provincetown
that takes a look at the history of why people still flock back every summer without fail.

Featuring photographs by the late Al Kaplan, who arrived in P Town in 1961 aged 18 and for the next five years recorded the community that he was at the center of. Midge Battelle’s photographs are from the 1990’s when she recorded the annual Dyke Drag Brunch that takes place during P Town’s Womensweek. They are joined by art from Len Paoletti who before he retired to Fort Lauderdale ran a couple of P Town guest houses whilst practicing his art.  Paoletti is best known for his canvasses on scenes at the Boatslip Tea-Dances which have a distinct 1980’s feel to them.

queerguru P.T.V’s roving reporter who winters in Miami Beach caught up with Chris Rudisill, Stonewall Museum’s Executive director to get the low-down on why he thinks there is such a bond between the two towns.
