The fabulously funny Dixie Longate left her children tethered up to her Trailer in Mobile Alabama to bring her hilarious K-CK SH-TTER SHOW to the Pilgrim House and she sat down with QUEERGURU to tell us all about that and her Happy Hour Online Show: Check out the video.

SUMMER SOLSTICE: is a story of non-binary unrequited love Written and directed by queer, non-binary film-maker Noah Schamus, it’s based on their own experiences of the shifting dynamics of friendships post-coming out. It’s also an interesting analysis of unrequited love and how college friendships mature once we are in our late twenties. This film is both refreshing and mature in that the queer trans narrative threads throughout the film, but doesn’t dominate. The likable characters have the right balance of confidence and self-doubt true to most twenty-somethings. Strong casting means all the performances are great – in particular a very funny bad sex scene.

Alec Mapa aka America’s GayAsian Sweetheart’ dashed back from the Picket Line at Disney to talk with Queerguru about making his London Debut (and losing his English Cherry) this Fall at CRAZY COQS Club. Actor, comedian, writer, and sometime judge on Drag Race, Mapa won our hearts with his performances in Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives, and Switched at Birth etc. If you have seen his Showtime TV one-man show ALEC MAPA BABY DADDY you’ll know too that Mapa is a very excited and happy husband and father (the only one who can ever call Mapa ‘daddy. without laughing is his son.) Taking with the charismatic Mapa is it impossible not to be caught up in his infectious humor …… the Brits are in for a real treat
The indefatigable Rikki Beadle-Blair is a queer culture phenomenon. The face behind and also upfront in so many mega-successful projects, films and plays, is an unstoppable force who is always plotting on how to keep entertaining and educating our community and beyond, This Brit is an actor, director, screenwriter, playwright, singer, designer, choreographer, dancer, songwriter, activist, producer and mentor.
We arranged an interview to talk with him via Facetime as he is currently directing a new play by Tom Wright called Undetectable at London’s Kings Head Theatre ….. although as usual that isn’t the only project he is working on. Given such limited time we didn’t get to even touch on his impressive packed resume that includes creating the hit Tv series Metrosexuality etc etc . Maybe next time.
This multi-talented gay renaissance man has an infectious humor and energy and within five minutes of meeting him you can easily see why we queens love him. Even the real Queen does too and she awarded Beadle-Blair an MBE in recognition of his work, and for a Brit, things do not get much better than that.
