One of the perks of queerguru’s job covering the major events that matter in P Town for P.T.V. is that we get to see sneak previews of movies that haven’t even had their world premiere yet. PLUS we get to meet the stars ….. in this case THE star. She is of course the legendary and extraordinary performer who is more Cher than Cher …… and the movie based on her own life is called THIRSTY , because she is the fabulous Miss Thirsty Burlington.
We say down with Thirsty in P Town’s hottest club The Velvet Lounge for an exclusive interview to talk about the movie ….. and which even Thirsty hasn’t seen yet …..and life and love and that amazing voice of hers. Hers is such a quintessential P Town story that it is perfect that the movie starts its life here too.
We’ll fess up right now that we are big fans of Thirsty as is most of the whole Town which we witnessed at first hand when we stepped out together for a cocktail (or two) and she was constantly mobbed. So much so that tickets for the Premiere of the movie at next weeks’ Provincetown International Film Festival #PIFF16 completely sold out in under 5 hours, and the second screening they then hastily announced, sold out just as quick.
Do not despair however as we will be broadcasting our full interview on PTV and publishing it across all our Social Media as soon as it is edited ….. and we will keep track as to where the movie will show up next as we hear from unconfirmed sources (!) that it will be back in P Town very very soon.
