To mark the annual Holocaust Memorial Day this year on January 27th, the HMD Trust in the UK have just released this extremely moving video to mark the occasion, and sadly remind us that the world is still not free from all different levels of hatred.
It tells the story of Bea Green and her father who were forced to flee Nazi Germany simply because they were Jewish. Nazi Law encouraged the humiliation and persecution they faced. The video goes on to explain that even though such persecution is illegal in the UK these days, people still face prejudice and hostility because of their religion, their sexuality, and the color of their skin.
Their simple but very clear statement is that collectively we can support all those who face any intolerance in the UK, and that to mark Holocaust Memorial Day we should work together to create a better and safer society.
