How Queers Changed the Shape of TV

If you have been putting off getting APPLE TV even though it means missing out on Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon on their hot new drama series The Morning Show,  now may be the time to rethink your decision.

On Valentines Day this year APPLE TV are launching a brand new 5 part documentary series will investigate how the LGBTQ movement has helped shape TV.

Each hour-long episode Visible: Out on Television will explore themes such as invisibility, homophobia, the evolution of the LGBTQ character and coming out in the TV industry. Each one will be hosted by a queer icon such as Janet Mock, Margaret Cho, Asia Kate Dillon, Neil Patrick Harris and Lena Waithe.
It is literally gay all the way as its directed by Ryan White  (The Case Against 8) and Jessica Hargrave – and produced by Wanda Sykes and Wilson Cruz – the documentary combines archive footage with interviews from the likes of Ellen DeGeneres, Oprah Winfrey, Anderson CooperRachel Maddow, Don Lemon, Sara Ramirez, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and even the ubiquitous Billy Porter who is impossible to escape these days.
