I’ll Be Home at Christmas takes on a whole different meaning for the LGBTQ+ community

Queerguru is adding PANTENE to our List to Santa on who’s been very nice this year.  The hair care peeps have got together with the Trans Chorus of Los Angeles and GLAAD  to highlight  a challenge that the trans community face each Christmas season.

Evidently some 44% of LGBTQ+ people feel that cannot go home as their true selves, and it is hardest most of all for the ‘T’ part of that who feel they will be rejected

Pantene’s #BeautifuLGBTQ campaign also addresses the idea of ‘chosen family’ for LGBTQ people who are unable to return home to their parents and other relatives.   Steven one of the participants of the video sums it up beautifully “To me, being home is being somewhere where you don’t have to worry about the identity you broadcast to the world,” Steven shares. “Where it all falls away, and you can just be yourself.”

Watching the video makes us think hard about our brothers and sisters and puts a whole new deeper meaning on I’ll Be Home At Christmas.

P.S. This year Pantene, which has pledged to donate $100,000 to Family Equality and also promoted National Coming Out Day and Spirit Day on social media.
