Kiss A Ginger Day

It’s already almost 12 noon and we have only just discovered that today is officially “Kiss A Ginger Day”.  Who knew? To celebrate this crucial day in our calendar we are taking a leaf out of photographer Thomas Knights fab book “Red Hot” that celebrates some very hunky redheads that anybody would want to kiss.

3 years ago Knights had this great idea to put ginger guys in the spotlight like they had never seen before. He wanted to show them as desirable… as alpha males : sexual, confident, heroic and THE ultimate male.

The project started as a Exhibition in London and following its unprecedented success, Knights produced a best selling calendar which ultimately led to THE book : RED HOT 100. It contains one hundred flame-haired guys from all over the world, captured topless against the iconic vivid blue background. Not only is it pleasing to the eye (!)  the book also holds a mirror up to current perceptions of male beauty and asks the question : “Why are there so few ginger heroes or heartthrobs in Western culture?”

Since then there have been two calendars and a second edition of the book published this August (and available from Amazon). We are not sure if we can really answer Knights question about the lack of heroes but will try and find out by keeping to the full spirit of ‘Kiss a Ginger Day‘ .   Now where has Prince Harry got too?
