Lyall Hakaraia Makes Your Mask

It’s not just queer performers who are struggling to make a living during the COVID 19 crisis, but also the brave souls that provide venues for them to perform

LYALL HAKARAIA is the creative pioneer and driving force behind the burgeoning queer performance spaces in London’s EAST END. His club VFD is an exciting epicenter that hosts an extraordinary array of events that involve an array of emerging talent and some of the very best queer performers and artists that have so revitalized this part of the city.

Throughout his career Hakaraia has focused on giving newcomers their first breaks  and being a mentor to them, and now we welcome this small opportunity to help them pay back some of their dues.

He is making face masks as there is a need for sustainable alternatives to the throw away ones and on a practical note  he need an income as his arts venue is now closed and like everyone else he still has bills to pay. It is important to note that these are not medical grade masks, but they will help limit the spread of infection by encouraging mindful and courteous behaviour. They are also add a note of brightness, cheerfulness and style in these some what somber times.
