Noel Alejandro and his Bedroom Stories

If you have been following QUEERGURU for some time now (we celebrated our 5th Birthday this summer ) then you will probably know that we have always been a big fan of the work of Noel Alejandro.  He is a Catalan film director based in Berlin, producing and directing beautiful and artistic erotic films.

His latest project is “Bedtime Stories” which is his new way of telling gay stories, to a mature audience, with a unique sense of wonder and intimacy, with the release of new monthly short stories.

With Bedtime Stories, Noel hopes to depict the different contexts in which passionate encounters can take place and the diverse range of emotions and states of mind the characters experience. While some Bedtime Stories are funny and playful, others are reflective and sad. Some stories tell about the pursuit of sexual pleasure and the demystification of gay couples; others dwell on individual journeys throughs personal fantasies and desires. It’s an exciting project with a thoughtful exploration of the connections and dynamics between men.

The first of these is “After Cherries”   Daniel wants people to wake up. Clement wants to sleep alone under the stars. The world is a battlefield where logic and fear fight viciously for control. Weary of it, two men build their own hallucinogenic cosmos where they can play and exist – where only their bodies make the rules, and the mind is set free by pleasure.

Set against the backdrop of today’s media war on misinformation, two friends discuss their views
on vaccines, consumerism, 5G network, and the coronavirus spreading. Living in a world that is overwhelming them, they decided to pause the battle between their conflicting ideas to reconnect with one another

We appreciate that porn has been stigmatized forever. For a genre that is relentlessly exploited, it’s also the one that has evolved the least. Alejandro’s vision is to change the way we look at erotic art and use it to bring audiences more understanding and engaging stories about gay issues and love. Overall, a very poetic way of addressing stigmas and sexual taboos within a piece for lovers of artistic eroticism.
