Who’s Queer Now

The word ‘queer’ in this instance takes on a whole other nuance down in Wales as the guys at Pride Cyrmu (that’s Welsh for Wales) are holding a rather unusual event this coming weekend to mark LGBT History Month.  In our time queerguru has covered an enormous range of happenings to mark this important time in our calendar which so clearly demonstrate just how diverse our community really is, but we have never ever encountered anything quite like this.

The whole day is to be one long celebration of Doctor Who and how & why it so beloved by many LGBT fans. An organizer said that the purpose of the event is to acknowledge the relationship between the Whovian universe and people grappling with their own identities.

One of the very many guests will be openly gay Welsh writer/producer Russell T Davies who helmed the popular BBC TV Series for years.  Davies is also known as the creator of the groundbreaking Queer As Folk series which spurned a very successful American series too.

So if you are part of the Doctor Who Fandom, the details are below and the tickets are just £5 each, so just jump into your Tardis and head for Cardiff
