Tuesday 20 September at 9/8c sees the premiere of a brand new TV series on the Oxygen channel in the U.S. Strut is a reality show all about Slay Model Management in Los Angeles which is the world’s first exclusively trans modeling agency .
The program has been executive produced by Whoopi Goldberg who told Variety Magazine “People tend to focus on the stereotype instead of the person, and this series will give viewers a unique opportunity to spend time with real people who are struggling with the same challenges we all face as we make our way through the world. You may even be surprised to discover that you have been seeing and interacting with transgender men and women in ways you didn’t even realize. It’s time to separate caricature from real people and that’s what we are doing with Strut.
Strut will follow a group of trans models – Dominique, Laith De La Cruz, Isis King, Ren Spriggs and Arisce Wanzer – as they travel the world of fashion and do battle with all the usual stereotypes.
