Britains first-ever gay TV program 23 years ago was such a hoot

In 1995 the UK National broadcast the august BBC launched the country’s very first all gay TV show.  Gaytime TV was a  late night comedy and lifestyle magazine that naturally was completely groundbreaking at the time, and although they managed to secure excellent guests like Harvey Fierstein and Martina Navratilova for the very first episode, the whole program never really got over the wooden presenters and the homemade looking set.

Still we were hungry for any LGBT media at the time and so it lasted for a  total of 4 series with 39 episodes in all .  One of the more popular segments was a weekly workout with pornstar Mark Anthony,  and one of the program’s traditions was to conclude with a torch song.  Well it would would’t it

Here’s a video of almost the very first episode when its travel piece talks of Hotels in Miami’s South Beach for $20 per night….. the good old days.

P.S. Queerguru would love you to bits if you did us one tiny favor.  Despite the fact that we have had almost 270K hits on YouTube (yeah!) they will not give us a single cent of the advertising money that they make off us until we have more subscribers.  Won’t cost you a dime,  but it will help support our site. Just simply click on the link below.  Thank you very much!
