Dusty Springfield : You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me

The sublime Dusty Springfield was so much more than the flamboyant figure she cut with her  peroxide blonde bouffant hairstyle, evening gowns, and her signature  heavy  eye make-up.  At her peak in the 1960’s she was one of the most successful British female performers, with six top 20 singles on the US Billboard Hot 100 and sixteen on the UK Singles Chart.

Dusty  is a member of the Rock and Roll and UK Music Halls of Fame. and several international polls have named Springfield among the best female rock artists of all time.

Turning back time here is the iconic gay diva singing on her ver best hits  You Don’t Have To Say You Love Me live at Wembley Empire Pool, London, England on May 1st 1966.   You can also spot her “allegedly’ lover Madeline Bell singing backup vocals
