Oscar winning queer filmmakers Rob Epstein & Jeffrey Friedman talk moviesOscar Winners queer filmmakers Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman were at Provincetown Film Society & Festival to screen their two latest movies State Of Pride & LINDA RONSTADT :THE SOUND OF MY VOICE with the latter winning the HBO Audience Award for Best Documentary Feature. They talked with QUEERGURU about these and some of their backlog of classic queer movies .

Out gay wrestler FRED ROSSER talks about being honored for his advocacy

WWE star wrestler Fred Rosser caused quite a stir when he came out as gay in 2013, since then he has continued wrestling and also has become an activist, rolemodel and advocate non-profit BURN THE HATE for which he was given Miami’s OUTshine Film Festival VANGUARD AWARD and also the Keys To The City. He talked to QUEERGURU about all this …..and his live and hopes.



Over 80% of the actors at the casting for Jayro Bustamante’s film refused to play ‘gay’

When Guatemalan filmmaker Jayro Bustamante‘s went to cast his sophomore film a drama about a married man who comes out as gay he was shocked to discover that over 80% of the actors at the casting would not play ‘gay’ .  He needn’t have worried though as he chose the extremely talented actor JUAN PABLO OLYSLAGER whose finely nuanced performance as the lead character makes this very disturbing drama so utterly watchable.

In what is the 2nd Guatemalan movie to every have an LGBT story line, Olyslager  Pablo  who is forced by his Church & family to give up on his chance of real happiness. 

Bustamante, and Olyslager along with Sabrina De La Hoz , talked to QUEERGURU when the film was screened at Miami Film Festival

P David Ebersole talks about his debut novel 99 MILES FROM LA

P David Ebersole one half of the married award-winning filmmakers  Ebersole Hughes  went solo to write his debut novel 99 MILES TO LA., so when he came to PTown to do a book reading at East End Books Ptown, he sat down with QUEERGURU to talk about his novel which is getting some rave reviews.
