I’ll Cry Tomorrow : surviving the AIDS pandemic in 1989

Living through the AIDS pandemic is still a very tough topic to confront especially for those who still suffer from survivor guilt. We however believe that uncomfortable as it is to deal with such a catastrophic time, it is, whether we like it or not, a crucial part of the history of the LGBTQ community.

What came out of this period was empowerment, determination, strength, and an ability to start living our true lives.  If for no other reason than the fact we owed it to all those many souls that we lost.

Brett Thomas’s new excellent short film I’ll Cry Tomorrow of his life as an 18 year living in SF at the height of the pandemic will disturb memories for many, but it is nevertheless compulsive viewing. This highly emotional record that Thomas has made is made up of footage from 1986of a self-shot film he found under his bed!

I’ll Cry Tomorrow won the Berlin Short Film Festival and is now available to view on Vimeo
