Jan Fabre’s naked Greek Chorus

aa

Jan Fabre is a Belgian leading avant-garde theatre maker, author and visual and performance artist who is renowned for expanding the horizons of every genre to which he applies his artistic vision. His work deals with such themes as violence, lust, beauty and erotica and in particular the body in all its forms which has been the subject of his investigations since the early 1980s.

Last year with his Troublyn Company Farbe created for Mount Olympus a monumental 24 hours performance ‘which is a slab of history dipped in a sea of time to glorify the cult of tragedy.’    The notes on mountolympus.be describe it thus “The 24-hour project is one of these big projects, an exceptional format that is again intended to explore the boundaries of what can be said and shown on stage. It will be theatre of experience in the strictest sense of the term, a life spent in the theatre, twenty-four hours long, without interruption, one prolonged flow, one continuous scream. The actors wake and sleep on stage. For twenty-four hours Fabre directs his images using their stolen dreams.”

Here from that performance is the male Greek Chorus in a NSFW video :
