Mrs Madrigal the Matriarch of Barbary Lane is Back

TALES OF THE CITY

Mrs Madrigal is finally back.  The groundbreaking TV series based on Armistead Maupin’s iconic book/s Tales Of The City is being wonderfully revived by Netflix. It is a brand new production but the powers that be had the good sense to recast Academy Award winning actress Olympia Dukakis back as the matriarch of Barbary Lane.  They knew that there was no-way we would even start to watch again if she wasn’t there handing out her own brand of advice and joints to her household of tenants.

Laura Linney is also back as the annoying Mary Ann Singleton that we came to love, and his joined by Paul Gross as Brian who is now her ex-husband : their daughter Shawna in the new series will be played by Ellen Page.  Mary Ann is having a midlife crisis and has left her comfortable Connecticut life to come back into Mrs Madrigal’s life.  The house at 28 Barbary Lane is now very fittingly filled with new a generation of queer young residents so there are bound to be plenty of dramas ahead

TALES OF THE CITY

Both Armistead Maupin and Laura Linney are Executive Producers of the series that Netflix will air this summer.  We cannot wait!
