Hot on the heels of Nick Broomfield’s doc Whitney Can I Be Me which debuted on Showtime TV last summer, comes yet another profile of Whitney Houston, the talented but troubled singer. Simply called Whitney and directed by Oscar-winning filmmaker Kevin MacDonald, who previously helmed Marley, this is an attempt to unravel the mystery behind “The Voice,” who thrilled millions even as she struggled to make peace with her own rather disturbing past.
Macdonald has used never-before-seen archival footage, exclusive demo recordings, rare performances, audio archives and original interviews with the people who knew her best
The movie is due to be released in US movie theaters on July 6th, 2018.
