#PIFF16 Lives On With PTV

The Fat Lady may have Sung on Sunday night at #PIFF16, but here and on PTV’s FB Pages the Provincetown International Film Festival  lives on.  There are full reviews of all our top picks ….. several of which went on to win Awards … such as Anne Fontaine’s The Innocents  which received HBO Audience Award/Best Narrative Feature.

Plus Political Animals : the joint Winner of HBO Audience Award/Best Documentary Feature which told the uplifting tale of four courageous openly gay female members of the California Legislature whose pioneer work laid the foundations for many of the equal rights that our community today.  

 

 

One of the many interviews we had at The Sage Lounge and Inn was with Remy Auberjonois the co-writer and director of Blood Stripe and the winner of The John Schlesinger Award, presented to a first time feature filmmaker (narrative). We talked about his compelling movie and also working with family ….. his co-writer and star was his wife Kate Nowlin and his father veteran Hollywood actor Rene Auberjonois was in the movie too.

When we weren’t in the movie theater we covered The Red Carpet and also got to sit down and talk to stars, director and filmmakers the whole week long.  Now our small team is busy beavering away editing a whole wealth of rather wonderful exclusive interviews that include :

Local legend Miss Thirsty Burlington who gave us all a sneak preview on the movie on her life ‘THIRSTY’.

Nathan Adloff writer/director of the semi-semi autobiographical movie MILES

C. Fitz and Jewel Thais-Williams : the director and star of Jewel’s Catch One about her pioneering LGBT club.

Actress/writer/director Illeana Douglas stopped by to regale us with stories from her fab new book.

We talked about surrogacy to Amy Geller co-director of THE GUYS NEXT DOOR.

We talked about Alzheimers with Lisa Genova who wrote the novel that became the movie STILL ALICE

We talked about gentrification with Daphne Pinkerson producer of HBO Doc CLASS DIVIDE

WE chatted to B Ruby Rich about new queer cinema.

We even made a FaceTime interview with Ester Gould in the Netherlands to discuss the stunning Closing Night Film STRIKE A POSE which she co-directed.

We kicked it all off with a delightful chat with Hollywood legend Tab Hunter …. and even got to get his life partner Allan Glaser to go on record too.
