How long can you stretch your 5 Minutes of Fame?

Jackie Siegal was the subject of a documentary in 2012 when she and her husband were building a 90,000-square-foot Florida mansion i.e. America’s largest and most expensive home .  She had it styled after Versailles NO not the 17th Century Palais BUT the Las Vegas Casino of the same name.  The doc very tongue in check was called the Queen of Versailles.  18 years after the construction started the house is still not finished.  Neither is Siegal’s tenuous brush with fame.   She appeared this week as a guest of the Charter Yacht on TV:s Below Deck. and she seriously  insisted the entire crew address her The Queen of Versailles, Good sports that they were, they didn’t even spit in her food.

It’s A Sin : Good News from the UK .

Russell T Davies’s AIDS drama set in the 1980’s/90’s opened to rave reviews (including Queerguru’s ….check HERE).  Now Channel 4 have just announced it has been their most successful drama series EVER and has been viewed over 6.5 million times.  On Friday (5 February), at the end of National HIV Testing Week, UK HIV and sexual health charity Terence Higgins Trust (THT) confirmed that it had seen more tests ordered than ever before.

THT wrote on Twitter: “The power of TV to change lives. It’s A Sin is Channel 4′s most binged watched new series and honors the heroes of the past — stopping our history being forgotten. It’s also led to more people than ever taking action and getting tested during National HIV Testing Week. What a legacy. LA!
