Queerguru’s JONNY WARD thought he had died and gone to heaven when he saw CHER IN LONDON

Cher ☆☆☆☆☆
The 02 Arena, London
Sunday 20th October 2019

Cher’s incredible Here We Go Again Tour rolled into town at the weekend. She started in New Zealand back in September 2018 and will finish in Dallas in December 2019 having covered Australia, Europe and North America. Did we mention she is 72?!?

Cher is the only artist to have had a Billboard number one in six consecutive decades from the 1960’s to the 2010’s. She is one of very few people to have a won an Oscar (Moonstruck), a Grammy, an Emmy (Believe) and a Tony. Most importantly she seems to have a new wig for every song.

Tonight we are treated to a pre-show montage of Cher down the ages – 60’s beatnik,70’s shocker, 80’s rocker, 90’s electro goddess and on it goes. Camp excess just doesn’t cover it – for one section she enters the stage atop an elephant.

Queerguru;s favourites from a daunting setlist included the Abba section with vast glitter balls aplenty spinning on the screens and flares flapping along to Waterloo, SOS and Fernando (fireworks), and also Walking in Memphis and finally of course the encore – Believe – and Cher darling – we truly do!
