queerguru’s pick of P Town Women’s Week

queerguru LOVES P Town’s Womensweek and so we are currently working on previews of what we think are some of the highlights this year.

We have an exclusive interview with Donna Deitch the director of the cult classic lesbian movie ‘Desert Hearts’ that is celebrating it’s 30th Anniversary with a brand new restoration this year. It has been chosen to be the Centerpiece Movie of the Week at Waters Edge Cinema which Donna will personally introduce and conduct a Question & Answer session too.

We also sat down recently to film an interview with one of P Town’s very own funny women and chanteuses Julie Wheeler to discover why ‘Curve Magazine’ called her ‘the complete package’, and ask her what we can expect at her new Show which is part of Absolut Women at the Crown series this year.

We are also talking to our very own favorite Chef Michele Ragussis, who this summer has been the star of our own series ‘Quickies with Queerguru’ and is now going head to head with comedian Vickie Shaw. In a poolside show at the Crown & Anchor called Northern Sass vs Southern Ass, Vickie will be preparing some Southern down-home country favorites and Chef Michele will prepare a similar dish with her Gourmet flair.  The audience gets to eat it all and then vote on who’s best.
