Renée Fleming : You’ll Never Walk Alone

Who knew that when Renée Fleming, one of the world’s greatest opera singers, sent tingles down our spines when she sang ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ life at the Lincoln Memorial for The Obama Inaugural Celebration in 2011, she was actually auditioning too!  Turns out that some eight years later the great soprano is swapping the opera stage for one on Broadway and will be playing Nettie Fowler in a stunning new revival of Rogers & Hammerstein’s classic musical Carousel.

Fleming is co-starring with Tony Award winner Jessie Mueller and Tony nominee Joshua Henry directed by Tony Award winner Jack O’Brien with choreography by New York City Ballet’s Justin Peck.   This highly anticipated must-see show is currently in Preview at the Imperial Theater.

Meanwhile, take a peek at what kicked off this extraordinary new turn in her career with this video below, then go book tickets to see her on Broadway.

P.S. ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ is also on Renée Fleming By Request Album

P.S. Meanwhile making the reverse journey, Tony Award winner Kelli O’Hara is leaving Broadway behind for now and has joined the Metropolitan Opera’s production of Mozart’s Così fan Tutte that opens next week.  It seems like job swaps all round!
