THREAD EXPERIMENT

Occasionally you come across a new idea that is so logically brilliant that you cannot perceive why on earth no one had ever thought it up before.  Or maybe they did and it is still lying in the recess of their imagination waiting to be kick-started into existence. This particular one is a very simple concept and one that will be like a home run for every man who has been rebelling about pastel floral bed linen for years. Manufacturers have always assumed that it’s the woman of the house who is the mistress of the bedroom and so they have always catered exclusively for her taste when it comes to furnishing it.  Even the fact that in many boudoirs today the mistress is also a man, and a man’s man at that, the only concession the folks at places at Bed Bath and (way) Beyond deign to offer, are some in-offensive neutral sheet sets.
Now if the folks at Thread Experiment get their own way, that thankfully is all about to change. They have produced a whole new home bedding brand especially for men …..it is evidently the very first of its kind.  Designed by Justin Mikita, named as a 2014 Tastemaker by OUT Magazine, and it’s inspired by menswear (Mikita designed and co-founded Tie The Knot).  The collection has bright clean cut lines and a great modern esthetic, and it’s so frigging masculine which makes it a sheer joy!
Mikita along with fellow entrepreneurs Greg Shugar and Greg Winner have launched their inaugural collection for this summer with 16 original designed duvet/comforter sets and an array of solid and print sheet sets.  There is a mixture of nautical and geometrical shapes and paisley and tartan prints all produced in a very manly color palette.

Plus you can sleep well knowing that you are doing good at the same time as for every full bedding set you buy from the Company, they will donate another set to a homeless shelter or housing charity in need.
Prices start at $99 for sheets, $138 for duvets, and $168 for comforters and don’t despair if you live in the UK, they will ship for a flat fee of $99.
P.S. We have it in good authority that ‘Modern Family’ star Jesse Tyler Ferguson is a big fan of the new bedding, which he got to ‘road test’ with his husband.  He just happens to be Thread Experiment’s designer Justin Mikita.
