We are all going to love to hate Morgan Fairchild in MELANGE: the new ‘gay Dynasty’

Wednesday nights are suddenly about to get a whole lot gayer.  Queerguru has just watched a sneak preview (sorry we are NOT allowed to share) of the campiest soap operas we have seen for years.  Even though the pilot episode of MELANGE doesn’t air on LOGO until Wednesday 20th May, it is already being dubbed as ‘Gay Dynasty’,   And instead of Joan Collins  playing the evil matriarch we have none other than Morgan Fairchild  (would you believe she is 70!) dressed to the nines and dishing out some hilarious corny one-liners.

Melange is about the fight of ownership for a historic gay watering hole after the bar’s founder, Dorian Sydney “Syd” Winchester mysteriously and suddenly dies.  His strikingly handsome protege ́ Ryann Parker is about to take over his inheritance  when Syd’s  estranged ex-wife Vivian King  (Miss Fairchild) pops up out of the blue and demands to take ownership. As the stakes rise and tensions mount, Mélange becomes infested with betrayal, corruption, and revenge while exploring modern themes of sexuality, immigration, addiction, power, and inclusion.  Totally delicious to watch and will so quickly become compulsive viewing for anyone  with a current ‘gay card.’

It’s all the brainchild of Tom D’Angora  a three time Drama Desk nominated and Off-Broadway Alliance Award Producer whose lengthy resume includes include NEWSical: The Musical, Naked Boys Singing!, The Marvelous Wonderettes, A Musical About Star Wars,  the Backstage Bistro Award Winning Divas I’ve Done and A Broadway Diva Christmas.  D’Angora made this pilot a family affair too with his Producer husband Michael doing the editing.

Joining MIss Fairchild in this over-the-top melodrama is a wonderfully talented and diverse cast that includes openly-gay actor Scott Evans as Ryan, transgender Laith Ashley as Detective Alexander Thomas, Perez Hilton playing a gossip columnist (!) and openly gay Omar Shariff Jr making his debut as as  Ryann’s boyfriend Zayn.

Save the date : you will not want to miss this.

Logo TV’s YouTube and Facebook channels will premiere the pilot episode of the serialized drama “Mélange” on Wednesday, May 20th at 4PM ET/1PM PT
