Elton John + Rina Sawayama : Chosen Family

We love the fact that at the grand old age of 74, Sir Elton John’s music is still as relevant as ever.  Here he has teamed up with Rina Sawayama to make a heart-string-pulling new version of Sawayama’s single “Chosen Family” that celebrates finding love and acceptance within one’s friendship circle, or chosen family. Sir Elton said that their new track’s message of love and acceptance is exactly what we need right now.

Speaking with Zane Lowe on New Music Daily, Sawayama described the song as a love letter to her friends. “It was just really my genuine feelings towards my friends,” she said. “I think it speaks of pure and true love for me, there’s nothing weird about it; it’s just a straight-up love song to my friends.”
