Elle Emenopé is the very first Drag Dandy that we have met and he is part of a new queer revolution in drag (and beyond) in #PTown this summer. His extraordinary glam-rock show THE BOY FROM HELLTOWN has been a smash hit all season at Crown & Anchor’s WAVE BAR and so Queerguru sat down to talk with the (ridiculously tall) Elle about how he transitioned from dancing with The Metropolitan Opera to being scantly dressed belting out Video Killed The Radio Star
E. Lesh aka Eric Lesh is a queer portrait and figurative artist and is about to follow his dream and open his very own ART GALLERY in PROVINCETOWN. His artwork depicts queer subjects, capturing form and expression in as few lines as possible. Lesh is also a lawyer who worked for Lambda Legal and was recognized as one of the 40 Best LGBTQ+ Lawyers Under 40 by the National LGBT Bar. He talked with Queerguru about the line connecting his legal and artistic work which is a passion for justice and a desire to celebrate queer bodies and lives.
Following on from his award-winning No Ordinary Man (that Queerguru raved about….) Canadian trans filmmaker Chase Joynt the director and co-writer of Framing Agnes sits down with co-writer #MorganMPage to talk with QUEERGURU about their excellent new film, one of the best queer movies at Sundance Film Festival where it just picked up two prestigious awards.
London is so very lucky that they are just about to enjoy the remarkable talents of Justin Vivian Bond (‘the greatest cabaret artist of their generation’ The New Yorker) and Anthony Roth Costanzo (the vocally brilliant and dramatically fearless countertenor’ The New York Times) in their smash hit show ONLY AN OCTAVE APART straight from NY
This joyous and surprising musical fantasia revels in everything strange and beautiful in the coexistence of contrasts – from Purcell’s 17th century aria “Dido’s Lament” to Dido’s early 2000s hit “White Flag”, from “Autumn Leaves” to “The Waters of March”. Co-created and directed by Zack Winokur and costume design by JW Anderson, Viv and Anthony talked with QUEERGURU on the eve of their month’s engagement at Wilton’s Music Hall
