Posted on Categories queerguru.tvLabels , , , ,

Filmmaker #TRAVIS FINE‘S powerful almost epic like multl-layered ambitious story TWO EYES is nothing less than awe inspiring and it is having its WORLD PREMIERE as Outfest’s  Closing Night Film.

QUEERGURU can confidently tell you that queer movies as good as this come along far too infrequently, and you’ll kick yourself if you miss the chance to see it.

QUEERGURU was fortunate enough to catch up with Travis to talk about TWO EYES before the rest of the world got to see it

Two gay men and 11500 dogs …..

Danny Robertshaw and Ron Danta are a wonderful selfless gay couple who somehow managed to combine their lives as horse trainers with running a highly successful dog rescue service from their farmhouse in North Carolina.  Their story is told in a compelling new documentary directed by Ron Davis which tells the tale of how, with great personal sacrifices, they have found good homes for dogs that other people thought were unadoptable.

When the movie was being screened recently at Provincetown Film Festival they both stopped by the Pilgrim House Inn to talk to Queerguru about their heart-touching story .

Two gregarious gay women and their wee piece of culinary heaven

Veronique Leroux#JeanDoherty together for some 32 years and who claim they are really gay men in womens bodies, own and run Le Patio Wilton Manors that is a romantic wee gem that may also be the smallest restaurant we have ever eaten in. This rather disarmingly charming pair told us that 98% of their customers were gay men so we felt very much at home when we sat down to talk to them.

The interview was conducted by Roger Walker-Dack and filmed by Dan Desjardin

Vlada Knowlton on THE MOST DANGEROUS YEAR

Posted on Categories queerguru.tvLabels , ,

Filmmaker Vlada Knowlton talks to Queerguru about The Most Dangerous Year her compelling documentary which covered 2016 when the transgender community in Washington State (and the rest of the US) were under threat.

Knowlton’s film is more emotional than others as one of the trans children she features is her own 5 year old daughter.  Hence the part of parents coming to terms with the realisation that they have a trans child is much more personal as she shares her experience of dealing with her initial ignorance and learning how to be supportive.

The film is currently playing in select US theaters and will be available on DVD/VOD later this month
